Jack Frost

Jack Frost is a sprite-like character with roots in Viking lore. There, he is known as Jokul Frosti ("icicle frost"). In Britain and United States, Jack is a variant of Old Man Winter and is held responsible for frosty weather, for nipping the nose and toes in such weather, coloring the foliage in autumn, and leaving fernlike patterns on cold windows in winter.

Groundhog Day ~ Imbolc

Interesting... I must look into this further... I always wondered how it started...

Groundhog Day, also February 2nd, probably evolved from the lore that Brighid had a white snake that would emerge from hibernation on Imbolc to forecast the weather.

The celebration, which began as a Pennsylvania German custom in southeastern and central Pennsylvania in the 18th and 19th centuries, has its origins in ancient European weather lore, wherein a badger or sacred bear is the prognosticator as opposed to a groundhog.
The obvious similarities to the Pagan festival of Imbolc, the seasonal turning point of the Celtic calendar, which is celebrated on February 1 and also involves weather prognostication and to St. Swithun's Day in July.

The Meaning Of A Pentagram

The Meaning Of A Pentagram
There are actually several meanings for the symbol and none of them support the common belief that it is a symbol of evil.
It represents the human star, with four limbs and the head.
It is a protection against evil
It represents the five elements (air, water, earth and fire with the spirit sitting on top).
It was once even a Christian symbol, representing the five wounds of Christ.
An open pentagram is aware and active - a closed pentagram contains and protects.

Animal Power, Spirit, Totem, Medicine Guides

~An animal's eyes have the power to speak a great language~♥~ ~ Buber

TYPES OF ANIMAL GUIDES

Symbolic of the four sacred directions, four seasons, and the four colors of man, there are four basic types of animal guides.

Whether an animal spirit comes by dreams, signs and symbolic events, or actual events it is important to first determine if the guide is a Messenger Guide (Totem), Shadow Guide, Journey Guide or Life Guide.

The meaning and lessons an animal guide brings will differ according to the type of guide it may be. Learning to differentiate between the four types of totems is critical to knowing how to react and the actions you will take when an animal totem makes itself known to you. All guides are powerful.

A Messenger Guide quickly comes into your life and then leaves once a message is understood. The time a Message Guide stays in your psychic is relative to you seeing and accepting the message. The message itself can be spiritual in nature, or it can be a warning. The message may deal with a seemingly mundane aspect of your life or it may be a wake-up call for some important action you must make. Sometimes the animal messenger will come during an unusual event and make a powerful statement and others come on the wind as a whisper. A messenger guide can cause you delays or some unforeseen help in your life. They can be both negative and positive in nature for they are totally impartial.
A Shadow Animal Guide is one that invades you with fear. Its purpose it to teach a lesson you have not learned from repeated mistakes because of anger, avarice, greed, insecurity, or other negative thoughts. A Shadow Guide will return again and again bearing strong feelings of fear until its message is acted upon or a change in lifestyle or actions are incorporated into your life. The Shadow Guide is powerful. It can help you to overcome fear by bringing truth and turning fear into a helper animal guide or spirit animal guide. However, if ignored the Shadow Guide can become dangerous and its powers will have a negative affect on your life. The Shadow Guide lives in the spirit world and usually arrives during a time of testing.

A Journey Animal Guide appears at the fork in the road of your life. When a decision is made to follow a certain path in life, the Journey Guide is there to serve as a guide along the way. It represents a path that may take months or years to complete. It can be a friendly traveling companion if the path is right. If you become lost along the way, the Journey Guide is there help lead the way back. Unlike a Messenger Guide who comes and leaves quickly, the Journey Guide remains at your side until the current cycle in your life has changed. appears at the fork in the road of your life. A Life Animal Guide is also called a Spirit Guide as it remains a part of you throughout life and reflects your inner-spiritual self. You may have more than one Life Guide and new ones may come during an expected time. Usually a Life Guide does not move away or disappear but remains an integral part of your life, however, there are instances when a particular Life Guide is no longer needed and is replaced with a new one. Its powers are always there for you and serve as a constant reminder of your inner powers and oneness with nature. If for example your Life Guide is Bear, you should be a person who is a solitary dweller, a seeker of knowledge and well grounded. A Life Guide will often call upon other animal guides found within its domain to assist in giving you special messages from time to time.

FINDING YOUR ANIMAL TOTEM

You do not choose a Spirit Guide as your personal spirit guide. The Spirit chooses you and they decide to whom they will reveal themselves and make their friend. Do not fall into the trap of saying, “Gosh, I think the wolf is a smart, good looking and powerful animal, so the wolf will become my animal guide.” It does not work this way.
Each Animal has its own Medicine which is unique to that specific creature as gifted by the Great Mystery and its spirit cannot be chosen like the color of your new car. Discovering who your animal guides are is a process of paying attention to the spirits around you and following the signs. It is a process of developing your inner knowledge and spiritual understanding.

An individual can not be assigned a spirit guide by another person, regardless of who that person maybe, no more than another person can say how or when the Great Mystery of Life will be known to you.

What happens if you want an animal spirit so bad you can taste it (not literally) and one has not come to you? We have two suggestions for this case. First, pray about it. Second, be satisfied with whatever happens or does not happen. It if comes, then it comes. If it does not, then it does not. End of question.

To find Your own Animal Spirit Guide
This is a Meditation Process...

Firstly I would like you to turn down or off any distractions, you need your full concentrations and somewhere that is fairly peaceful and quiet.
Sit comfortably with your feet flat on the floor. I would like you all to take some nice deep breaths.

Take a deep breath in slowly through your nose and hold for a few seconds and exhale slowly through your mouth. Do this a few times, begin to relax your mind and body.
On each breath begin to relax more, feel your body muscles relaxing, your head and neck, your shoulders, arms and legs. Feel at total ease nothing is going to hurt you.

Try and quieten any thoughts. We are going to try and see our Animal Spirit guide using our 3rd eye. This is the area just above and between our eyebrows. It will be like watching a mini TV screen.
Some of you may be able to do this with your eyes open, but if you wish you can read the instructions and then close your eyes to do it.
As we sit relaxed pay attention to how you feel, be aware of this area where our 3rd eye resides. You may see shapes, pattens, colours this is normal. If you do not get anything do not worry this is not a test. You can try again another time.

As we sit now we are going to ask in our minds that our Animal Spirit Guide steps forward to show itself to us.
Just sit quiet and relaxed and wait. Our thoughts and requests are heard it just takes a little patience on our part. We will wait a moment or two as one may appear very soon.
It may not be an animal you were expecting to see. It may come slowly into view or it may appear in full form at once. Do not panic or worry remember this animal is for you. They help guide and protect us. We even may have had this animal with us in a previous life.

It may not be your favourite animal but allow it to show itself. It is with you for a reason.
Just stay relaxed and take note of what you see, and sense. Listen with your inner instincts do you feel your Animal Spirit Guides is conveying a message to you. Listen to your first thoughts, don’t doubt. Just let anything you hear, sense, see or feel come through.

The animal may appear in surroundings familiar to you. Take note of what is around the animal. Take note of any colours also. You may see more than one animal guide just try to focus on as much as you can. Enjoy what you are doing.

As the image begins to fade slowly you may open your eyes, try to remember as much as possible what you have just seen, write down anything that you saw or sensed etc.
Once you have found out what Animal Guide you have you can start finding out what their meanings are.

Luciferian Witchcraft? Lucifer - A good guy - not bad?

For some time this has confused me... and I'm sure a lot of other people as well. I have learned so many double meanings of religion, people, terminology...
So many misconceptions...  So when I came across this article it helped clear up this up a little....

Luciferian Witchcraft?
I will start with what it is not. Luciferian Witchcraft is not “left-hand path” witchcraft, it is not dark Gothic witchcraft, and it is not Satanism or Goetia.
Essentially it is the cult of Lucifer, which means “Light Bearer”, who is deity of intelligence, knowledge, wisdom, fire, and divine inspiration.
Neither feminine nor masculine, but both at the same time with Lucifer being the masculine aspect and Lilith the feminine. Lucifer is synonymous with Venus, the “Morning Star”. He/she is the torch-bearer, the bringer of fire and therefore the bringer of knowledge; Prometheus who stole fire from Zeus to give it to mankind, Raven who stole the sun, Lucifer who betrayed god and gifted mankind with awareness and knowledge… Lucifer the creator, saviour, and father of mankind.
Lucifer is not Satan and the two were not associated until the fear of eternal damnation in an imaginary hell was dreamed up by the Catholic church in the Middle Ages and they needed an adversary to rule it. Before then hell as a place of damnation did not exist, except perhaps in the ancient myths of Tartarus, but instead the belief in an underworld was held across cultures as the realm of the dead.

Household Harmony Spellwork

Household Harmony
Spell Date: Saturday, January 12, 2013
Color of the day: Black
Incense of the day: Rue
Originally a pagan holiday honoring Frigga, Norse goddess of the household, today was historically when women returned to the home following Yule visiting and celebrations. Though it was renamed St. Distaff's Day by the Christians, after a spinning tool used to make yarn, the original Pagan meaning was kept. Households require work - not just mundane cleaning, repairs, and maintenance but also the magical work of spiritual cleansing, protection, and blessing.
Today devote some time to mundane cleaning done with magical intent. Then bless your household, to create and maintain harmony within the house and among its inhabitants. Walk through each room, conjuring up feelings of joy and gratitude for all that your household means to you. Chant:

"Bless this happy, healthy home. Bless my people, wherever they roam. Keep us safe, protected, and whole, and give us harmony in our wondrous home."

Use this blessing whenever you clean house, in the mundane and magical spheres.

Saturday...

Saturday this day of the week got it’s name from the god of karma and time, Saturn.
This day is obviously associated with the planet Saturn and is our last day of the week. Traditionally Saturdays are great days for protection, banishing a negative situation, and generally a good time to clean up any magical messes that you have been ignoring. Some suggestions for Saturday enchantments would include:
Wearing the colors of the day, black and deep purple. Here’s your perfect excuse to be dramatic and witchy. Empower these dramatic pieces of your wardrobe for protection and strength.
Burning black candles to absorb negativity and burning purple ones to increase your magical wisdom and boost your spirituality
Adding a touch of garden witchery to your Saturday spells by working with the pansy (in black or purple of course), the morning glory flowering vine, or the cypress tree.
Carrying an obsidian, hematite, or jet tumbled stone in your pocket to reinforce your personal protection and to ward off bad vibes and sour feelings. You can also add these crystals to a candle spell on a Saturday night to really increase the punch of your spellcasting.
Cleaning your house and cleansing it while you are at it. Tap into those obstacle-removing vibes and the positive, concluding energies.
Closing up the final day of the bewitching week with a bang by calling on Hecate for protection and guidance.

Spells

I've been wanting to do some charms and have been looking for the perfect accompaniment... Maybe... these will do...

MAGIC WARD FOR A RING

Place the ring in the North of the room you wish to cast the spell in.
Place around it stones and symbols of earth.
Take the ring and in a shell or crystal dish filled with water mix some salt in. Say over this
"Creature of earth, I beseech of thee.
Protection from harm is what I wish for me.
In to you this ring I place,
Bind the protection well and to evil give chase."
Leave the ring in overnight in the light of the full moon and in the morning wash the salt
water off, clear everything away and wear it!
To remove the spell, place it in the south and say:
"With thanks for protection given
I now wish this spell riven!" and leave it there overnight in a window during a new moon.
.

I just liked this one...

SPELL TO BAR NEGATIVE ENTRY

1 oz. (25 grams) Ground Cumin 1 lb. (500 grams) Sea Salt
Mix well. Start at the end of the driveway, beginning to the East, and go
completely around the property, strewing along the edges of the property.
Be sure you complete the circle and rejoin where you started.

A GENERAL CHARGE FOR SPELL WORK

The following chant is a good all purpose chant that can be used for just about any spell:
Witches power burning bright, tarot, rune and blade,
Charge the spell, infilled with might, here and now the magic's made.
Wave and tree, hedge and flame, strength of the elements gather here,
to bless this work and charge it well, to complete the spell now far or near.
Mystic Moon and Brilliant Sun, send your power here this way,
Gracious Lady, Mighty Lord, bless this charge that I lay.
Powers that are, powers that be, gather round this spell I cast,
empower my working three times three, send it forth to see it last! So Shall it Be!
