The Sacral Chakra; 2nd Chakra -

The Sacral Chakra; 2nd Chakra -
Also known in Sanskrit as Swadhisthana, the second chakra sits two inches below the belly button, and is the center of creation which focuses on creativity, fertility, sexuality, and emotions. Associations of the sacral chakra include the corresponding color; orange which symbolizes a sense of playfulness and energy along with procreation, family and fantasy. The related parts of the body include the reproductive organs, the bladder (and kidneys), the colon, the sacrum and the ilea. And because it is the element of water, all fluids of the body are also assigned to this chakra. Fantasy enters as the person begins interrelating with family and friends, and adolescence is the time when our sexuality is blooming. How we perceive sex and relationships is vital, so this can directly affect how we live our creative and sexual lives. Lack of balance in the sacral chakra can lead to over or under active libidos. The inspiration to create begins in the second chakra and is related to our emotions and all emotional aspects of our feelings, personal boundaries, intimacy, relationships with ourselves, and trust. Also, a woman's power resides in the sacral chakra (versus the seat of men's power which lies in the solar plexus chakra), and as wise woman Susanne Bovanizer has stated,
"It is interesting to note that if we, as humans, feel threatened or disempowered, we tend to put down layers of fat for protection over our seats of power. Have you ever noticed that women tend to have excess adipose tissue below their wasteline - protecting the sacral chakra - whereas most men tend to create fat over their solar plexus chakra - in that their bellies hang over their belts. Could it be that we are protecting these sacred power centers physiologically against energetic attack?" , it makes a lot of sense.
Almost all illnesses stem from an imbalance at the emotional level. If you hold anger, fear, jealousy, or hate inside of you, this can cause major disturbances in your overall health, and even lead to serious illnesses. When the sacral chakra is out of balance, closed, or not spinning properly, we may notice that we have a low sex drive, or have sexual addictions, or are fearful of relationships, such as acting suspicious, insecure and manipulating members of the opposite sex, causing us to become withdrawn and lose our sense of creativity. When the sacral chakra is in balance we have inspiration for creativity, patience, self-confidence and endurance or can persevere in our endeavors. I love Susanne's explanation of the physical problems that arise when our sacral chakra is out of balance. She says,
"In this area we also hold control issues. If we are weak or lacking energy in this chakra, we can give over our control to others and become dis-empowered, impotent and fearful. Physical complaints such as prostate problems, PMS, fibroids, menstrual problems and lack of sexual drive can occur when the second chakra is imbalanced. Lower backache, sacroiliac problems, sciatica, and bowel dysfunction can also be attributed to a challenged sacral chakra. We need the creative life energy pulsing through this area to maintain homeostasis in the lower organs and stabilize health."
Archangel Gabriel: Creativity, Communication, and the Second Chakra
Archangel Gabriel is the angel to call upon when working with the sacral chakra. Gabriel's role on earth is to help spiritual messages get delivered through writings, drawings, poetry, and readings. When working with Gabriel, (often depicted as a female angel) she can help inspire your divine talents by helping you to find your gifts and true calling as well as help to open doors and bring creative inspiration when needed. Gabriel is especially helpful motivating those in the fields of communication and creative arts to help you overcome fear and procrastination. When called upon Gabriel can invoke the energy of God's divine wisdom by aiding in the opening of intuitive abilities and receptivity and allowing clear communication to flow, which is also useful when working with the throat and third eye chakras. Gabriel lends support when clear communication with others is required to create a win/win situation. She assists in helping to purify physical, emotional and mental bodies.

Sounds and Notes for Balancing the Sacral Chakra:
The note that helps balance the sacral chakra is "D", and the sound intonation is a long "O" as in cute, or fruit. Chakra balancing can be achieved by using many different methods, all equally effective. It really is a matter of choice which you prefer. Methods such as meditation, energy work, light work, or Reiki are also helpful when used in conjunction with essential oils, crystals, gemstones, and sound healing techniques such as tuning forks, toning, and humming which may be incorporated into your chakra healing sessions. See AC's own Crystal Kennedy 's article on using sound healing techniques to balance the chakras , it's a great article. And h ere are a couple other articles I've found that may help;Exercises that stimulate the sacral chakra, and Foods that fuel the sacral chakra.
